Assistive Technology   

 

      As defined by the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, assistive technology refers to "any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities."

 

      Our occupational therapists work together with clients and their families to recommend individualized assistive technology solutions that will improve each client’s independence and quality of life. These might include:

Occupational Therapy

  • environmental control units

 

  • workspace technology and ergonomic solutions

 

  • low-vision adaptive technology, including screen readers and magnifiers and closed captioning

 

  • augmentative communication

 

Occupational Therapy Service for STROKE

 

    Occupational therapists, who are trained to help people regain their functional independence following a stroke, play an important role in the stroke rehabilitation process. In stroke program, an occupational
